City of London Cemetery & Crematorium: venue details
Address: City of London Cemetery, Aldersbrook Road, London E12 5DQ.
The crematorium has two modern chapels (North & South). The City of London Corporation states both chapels seat 100 people, with large sliding doors opening to a covered area where a further 200–300 mourners can stand, view and listen using an external PA system.
Webcasting / live streaming at City of London Crematorium
The City of London Corporation notes that both modern chapels (North & South) have the facility to live-stream HD video and sound, and that this service is provided via their digital music supplier Wesley Media, arranged directly with them or via a funeral director (with an additional charge).
Some families use the venue webcast. Others prefer an independent specialist when they want:
-
a private link they control
-
additional audio backup options for readings/tributes
-
filming that includes arrivals/cortege (where appropriate), not just the chapel

How our live streaming works at this venue
Discreet camera placement
We set up in an approved position so we’re not distracting, not blocking walkways, and not drawing attention during the service.
Clear audio (the most important part)
Where possible, we capture audio from the chapel system (or an appropriate source), with backup options in place so readings, tributes and music remain clear for viewers at home.
Reliable streaming
We plan connectivity in advance. If venue Wi-Fi isn’t suitable on the day, we use an alternative setup so the stream stays stable for viewers joining from the UK and overseas.
Recording included
A full recording is provided afterwards, so anyone who couldn’t watch live can still view the service.

FAQs – City of London Cemetery & Crematorium live streaming
Does the venue offer a webcast/live stream?
Yes. The City of London Corporation states the North and South chapels can live-stream
Is the funeral livestream public?
No — it’s private. The link is shared only with the people you choose. If you want additional privacy, ask about password protection.
Do we get a recording afterwards?
Yes. A full recording is provided after the service so anyone who missed the live stream can still watch.
What if the mobile signal is poor.
We plan for this. Rural Kent can be variable, so we’ll discuss the location in advance and use the most reliable available setup. If live streaming genuinely isn’t possible at a specific spot, we’ll tell you upfront and offer the best alternative (like a high-quality recording). As well as multiple 4G Networks we also use satellite to stream, so pretty much anywhere is possible now
Will you be visible or distracting during the service?
Visible maybe but we work discreetly and respectfully, with equipment positioned to avoid disruption. Our aim is for you to barely notice we’re there.
Can you film arrivals or the cortege at this venue?
Yes — depending on venue guidance and timings on the day. Tell us what you’d like captured and we’ll advise the best approach.
